Coming up with Mother’s day gift ideas can be overwhelming at times. Trust me when I say, roller bottle recipes are very simple to make. All you need to make an essential oil roller bottle is an empty roller bottle, essential oils, and carrier oil. There are several carrier oils to pick from, but my favorite is fractionated coconut oil. FCO is light, easy to work with, and has many benefits for the skin.
A standard roller bottle is 10mL, but you can find them in 5mL’s, too, if you want to make a smaller set. For a 10mL roller bottle, I add about 15-20 drops of essential oil and top it off with the carrier oil.
Roller bottles can be applied topically to the skin. It is important to note that essential oils should not be put in the eyes or ears. My favorite place to apply essential oils topically is to the bottom of the feet, down the spine, the neck, or the wrists. Any pulse point is a good place to apply them, or you can apply them to the area of concern.

ESSENTIAL OILS FOR MOTHER’S DAY
When I think of essential oils for moms, I immediately go to pretty smelling and relaxing. Give me all the floral oils! What women doesn’t love the smell of flowers?
I also go to citrus oils as they are uplifting and energizing. Sometimes mama’s can use a little boost of energy. Plus, citrus oils can help with stress as well as uplifting the mood.
I also wanted to include my favorite blend for perfume! You can definitely switch this one up if you or your mom likes a different blend. Making your own perfume with essential oils can be so fun and easy to customize.

Hi! I’m excited to make these essential oil roller bottles. I’ve been told the oil based perfumes don’t last long. Based on your experience what is the shelf life of these essential oil roller bottles? Typically these all natural DIY‘s only last 2 to 3 months. Has that been your experience?
Laura says
Water-based DIY’s have a shorter shelf life. Roller bottles last for years!

Hi Laura!
You and your sister are such an inspiration. Love both of you!
I was wondering if there is a secret to keeping your labels from getting so oily? Every time I clean up a bottle and put on a new label they just seem to get ruined in a hurry.
Thanks and God Bless
Linda
