Learn how to make 5 anti-aging face serum recipes for all skin types. Simple to make face serum recipes that will leave your skin glowing and moisturized while reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
BEST HOMEMADE ANTI-AGING SERUM
Making your own anti-aging serum recipes at home is simple and will save you time and money! For me, it can be overwhelming walking through the skincare aisle at the store or even searching for products online.
How can I choose? There are so many options! Being a gal that is particular of what I put on my skin, I usually look for something that says “natural” or “organic.” Sometimes the “natural” products still have ingredients I can’t pronounce, so I end up making my own.
I found that homemade works just as well, if not better, and it saves me so much money. Now that I am in my 30’s, I am starting to look for products that say “anti-aging.” I came up with this homemade anti-aging serum using essential oils and all-natural ingredients, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

ESSENTIAL OIL ANTI-AGING SERUM RECIPE
Adding essential oils into your face serum is going to provide your skin with so many benefits. There are several essential oils that can help with anti-aging, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and promote healthy skin.
Essential oils are very concentrated, and a little goes a long way. It is always best to dilute essential oils before applying them to the skin. For these face serum recipes, you will be mixing the essential oils with a carrier oil, making it safe to apply topically.
Some of my favorite essential oils for aging skin:
- Rose
- Myrrh
- Helichrysum
- Yarrow Pomegranate
- Lavender
- Sandalwood
- Jasmine
- Clary Sage
- Roman Chamomile
- Lemon

- Pick your carrier oil.
- Pick your essential oils.
- Add in vitamin E oil, optional.
- Mix it up in a glass dropper bottle.
FACE SERUM FOR NORMAL SKIN
- 2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
- 3-5 drops vitamin E oil (optional)
- 5 drops helichrysum essential oil
- 4 drops sandalwood essential oil
- 3 drops lavender essential oil
Fractionated coconut oil (FCO) is my favorite carrier oil because it is a very light oil and has many health benefits. FCO is different from regular coconut oil because it stays liquid. It prevents oxidation, making it effective for extending the shelf life of your essential oils.
FACE SERUM FOR DRY SKIN
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- 3-5 drops vitamin E oil (optional)
- 5 drops myrrh essential oil
- 4 drops lavender essential oil
- 3 drops frankincense essential oil
I am adding avocado oil to this recipe because it is very hydrating and an excellent moisturizer for dry skin. Myrrh essential oil is one of the best oils for dry skin and great for anti-aging.
FACE SERUM FOR OILY SKIN
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- 3-5 drops vitamin E oil (optional)
- 5 drops lemon essential oil
- 4 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil
- 3 drops rose essential oil
Grapeseed oil is a great carrier oil for oily skin because of its light texture and leaves little residue on the skin. Lemon essential oil is a natural degreaser and works well for greasy or oily skin.
Lemon essential oil is photosensitive and should not be applied to the skin if you plan to be outside in direct sunlight. If using lemon essential oil, apply the face serum at night before going to bed to avoid any issues.
FACE SERUM FOR ACNE-PRONE SKIN
- 2 tablespoons argan oil
- 3-5 drops vitamin E oil (optional)
- 5 drops tea tree essential oil
- 4 drops frankincense essential oil
- 3 drops lavender essential oil
Argan oil can help with breakouts and acne-prone skin. It promotes cell regeneration, hydration, and can fade acne scars. Tea tree, frankincense, and lavender are the essential oils I use in my all-time favorite clear skin roller bottle. These oils can work well for spot treatment or for prevention.
FACE SERUM FOR SENSITIVE SKIN
- 2 tablespoons jojoba oil
- 3-5 drops of vitamin E oil (optional)
- 5 drops rose essential oil
- 4 drops lavender essential oil
- 3 drops frankincense essential oil
Jojoba oil penetrates the skin well and is a great option for anyone with sensitive skin. I chose rose, lavender, and frankincense for this facial serum because they are great essential oils for the skin and are very gentle. These oils are my go-to for my babies or anyone with sensitive skin.
I also use jojoba oil as the main ingredient in my facial oil recipe since it is great for all skin types.
IS VITAMIN E OIL GOOD FOR ANTI-AGING?
Vitamin E oil is great for the skin and can help improve the appearance of the skin. It is a powerful antioxidant, and when applied topically to the skin, it can block free radicals.
Vitamin E oil can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and prematurely aged skin. It works best when used consistently, which is why I like to add it to my anti-aging face serum.

HOW TO USE ANTI-AGING FACE SERUM?
Place a small amount of anti-aging face serum in the palm of your hand and massage it into the face. Focus on trouble areas, but be sure not to get too close to the eyes.
Face serums should be applied to the skin after you use your face cleansers and toner. If you prefer to use a separate face moisturizer, you can apply that over the facial serum.
HOW LONG DOES FACE SERUM LAST?
This face serum will last for one year when stored properly.
Store in an airtight glass bottle for best results.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE FACE SERUM?
It is best to use this anti-aging face serum twice daily, once in the morning after you wash your face and once at night before bed.
Try pairing it with this skin-tightening matcha face mask for spectacular results.

I made this serum maybe a year ago. When I pulled up your recipe to make it again, I saw that you added distilled water and a preservative. Are those ingredients necessary?
