Top 10 Anti-Aging Tips to Reduce Wrinkles

Aging is something that happens to us all. While it’s important not to stress about it, it’s nice to have some tips up our sleeves to slow down the process and retain our youth a touch longer.

Plenty of people out there rely on expensive trips to the store to combat aging – believing that a glossy packaged ‘anti-aging’ cream could be the answer on how to get rid of wrinkles.

But what if there was a more natural, sustainable, kinder, and more economical way to help slow down the aging process?

Wouldn’t you love to know how to tighten skin naturally without resorting to nasty chemicals and synthetics?

Or how to get rid of crow’s feet without nasty fillers?

Well, you’re in luck.

This is exactly what I’ll be covering today here in this post by sharing the top 10 anti-aging tips to reduce wrinkles.

You’ll discover my very best knowledge on the topic of anti-aging – natural ways to combat it, including lifestyle optimizers and natural face products that you can make directly at home.

I’ll also share my favorite anti-aging essential oils and the best carrier oils for aging skin, so you’ll get the whole package from me.

Let’s dive in.

Top 10 Anti Aging Tips To Reduce Wrinkles

1. cleanse your skin every day

I’m amazed at how many times I’ve been asked about my cleansing routine and how often I cleanse!

Seriously – to combat the signs of aging, you must cleanse every day without fail.

Cleansing is the number one way to remove makeup, dirt and residue from your skin after a long hard day.

Plus, when we sleep, our skin renews itself, which is why cleansing is so important – you essentially let your skin breathe when you give it a good wash!

If you’re new to cleansing or are looking for inspiration for a cleansing routine that works, here’s what I do every evening before bedtime.

2. exfoliate – get rid of dead skin cells

Exfoliation is something I do once a week using this recipe.

Not only is it good for preventing blemishes and spots, but it’s pretty much the only way to remove dead skin cells, which can cause a dull, lackluster appearance over time.

The reason I don’t recommend exfoliating every day is that it can cause more harm than good, making your skin particularly sensitive and, in some cases, quite sore.

If you’re using a good, natural exfoliator, once a week is enough, and the trick is not to be too rough.

Go gently, in circular motions, and you’ll soon discover brighter, glowing skin underneath.

3. wear a night cream

Trust me – don’t skip on the night cream!

And if you haven’t tried making your own natural night cream yet, why not give it a go?

Here’s a great recipe for you to try.

The fact is that there are so many wonderful essential oils for wrinkles and carrier oils, which will help fight signs of aging. But the key is to use it every day after cleansing.

We really don’t need to spend heaps of money on skincare products. Nor should we place our trust in those nasty chemicals in face creams at the superstore.

A natural night cream is what you need. And by design, it’s thicker and more luxurious in comparison to a day cream.

That’s because moisturization and rejuvenation are a night cream’s main objective, which helps smooth out those fine lines and wrinkles.

4. protect yourself against excessive sun exposure

We all know that too much sun causes premature skin aging. Still, equally, we need to be aware of the increasing rates of vitamin D deficiency (possibly from using sunscreen unnecessarily?)

But also, let’s not forget that sunburn causes skin damage years before it shows. It’s scary to think about it.

In my opinion, we must always wear sunscreen when we are in direct sunlight for an extended amount of time.

Use your judgment on this.

What I do is pop on sunscreen (I make my own!) before going out for the day, and always when we’re at the beach if we’ll be outdoors.

And I reapply it regularly (every couple of hours at least).

I also wear a sunscreen on my face in winter too, if it’s sunny.

Don’t forget that wearing a sunhat can give you even more protection to prevent those wrinkles from coming on too soon.

5. increase vitamin A and C intake

You may be surprised to know that Vitamin C is one of the best anti-aging tools around? It acts as a barrier to free radicals, which we are bombarded with daily due to our busy lifestyles.

So, if you take a vitamin C supplement or apply a serum that contains vitamin C, you’ll be helping not only to smooth fine lines but slow down the appearance of new ones.

Vitamin A is also renowned in the anti-aging world for its ability to boost collagen production, which is essentially the skin’s natural building blocks.

Collagen declines as we age, which is what causes skin aging and wrinkles to develop.

So remember to boost your intake of vitamin A and C to help slow down the aging process of your skin.

6. drink more water

You may wonder why do we get wrinkles as we age? Interestingly enough, dehydration is a common cause, as the skin is made up of 64% water.

So by nature, if you are well hydrated and not overloaded on caffeine and other dehydrating foods and drinks, your skin will look supple, clearer, and fresher, regardless of your age.

So, drink up (water, that is!)

7. reduce your sugar intake

Sugar is known to be unhealthy and the cause of many modern-day illnesses. But did you know it rapidly increases the rate that you age too?

If you can, try and minimize refined sugar – the stuff you find in candy, biscuits, and cakes.

Natural sugars, such as those in fruits, are way better for us, as they absorb slower into our system due to the fiber content in fruit.

8. eat a healthy,  well-balanced diet

This relates to reducing refined sugar for sure. To give your skin that extra boost, improve your diet overall.

A well-balanced diet of protein, healthy fats, and carbohydrates is key to slowing down the aging process and smoothing out those wrinkles.

9. reduce stress levels

I have a little daily ritual where I allow myself to enter a ‘stress-free’ zone for 15 minutes or more each day.

I know it doesn’t sound like a lot but setting the intention to be stress-free for at least 15 minutes a day really helps me relax, slow down, take stock and recentre myself.

And reducing stress is a surefire way to reduce wrinkles and prevent premature aging too.

Stress can cause restless nights and increase inflammation in the body, all of which will speed up the aging process.

10. use natural moisturizers

I have no idea why the trend of toxic chemical-laden face creams ever came in?

But I personally only use natural products for myself and my family – they really work! So I steer well clear of anything manufactured in a lab.

Using a natural moisturizer means you’re getting the full benefit of plant-based ingredients and healthy oils, which will nurture and nourish your skin, creating a brighter, smoother appearance.

Plus, they help promote new healthy skin cell formation, which will reduce signs of aging.

My favorite natural moisturizer is this one here. Have a go at making it, and let me know what you think?

The thing to remember is to use it every day. Then, building upon the benefits will have long-lasting positive effects on your skin’s appearance.

I hope you found this post useful and informative!
