Ok, I admit, bergamot is my favorite among all the citrus oils. I even include it in my list of the top 10 must-have oils. I absolutely love diffusing it! If you have ever smelled it, you know what I am talking about.

How to use bergamot essential oil

Bergamot can be used in a number of ways, the most common being aromatically, such as in a diffuser or room spray, but it can also be used topically, which we’ll get into next.

Aromatic use

Diffusing essential oils is one of the most popular ways to use them. When oils are diffused, tiny molecules of the oils are released into the air. As you breathe them in, you receive aromatic benefits.

Diffusing bergamot essential oil is a fantastic way to fill your home with its refreshing citrus scent. The energizing aroma instantly boosts my mood and gives me a burst of energy!

For aromatic use, add 4-6 drops of bergamot essential oil to aย diffuser. Or make a homemade febreze to mist into the air.

Topical Use

Bergamot essential oil can be used topically on the skin to help reduce stress, boost energy naturally, and help with skin blemishes.

It is important to note that bergamot is a photosensitive essential oil. As a result, it should not be applied when you plan to be in direct sunlight. Avoid sunlight or UV rays for 12-24 hours after applying bergamot.

Bergamot needs to be diluted before being applied to the skin to avoid skin sensitivities. You can dilute bergamot in a carrier oil, lotion, salve, or make it into a roller bottle.
