I love having roller bottles on hand for life’s little emergencies. These essential oil roller bottle recipes are a must in every home. My kids love to apply their own oils and having them pre-diluted in a roller bottle makes it easier to apply.

We commonly use essential oils for skin irritations and imperfections. I keep all my essential oil roller bottles labeled, so we know what each blend is for. Because my labels are colorful, my kids know what is what as well.

I have shared multiple essential oil roller bottle recipes on the blog and even some for the skin. My all-time favorite is my clear skin roller bottle and my anti-aging roller bottle blend. Today, I am going to share 3 more essential oil roller bottles that we commonly use for skin imperfections.

Making your own essential oil roller bottle recipe is very simple to do and can save you time and money. Essential oils are very potent and should never be applied directly to the skin. It is always best to dilute them with a carrier oil.

When you make a roller bottle, mix the essential oil with a carrier oil to dilute it. A standard essential oil roller bottle comes in a 10mL bottle. For this size bottle, I use around 20 drops of essential oils and top the rest of the bottle off with a carrier oil. You can get my full dilution chart for all ages HERE.

The rollerball top makes it easy to apply. Simply roll the oil on the area of concern and massage it in. This is very convenient if using essential oils on children or for traveling.

BEST OILS FOR FACE

As far as carrier oils go, I personally use fractionated coconut oil on my face most often. It works well as a natural make-up remover and as a face moisturizer.

I often am asked about using essential oils and carrier oils on the face. Many people think it will clog pores and cause breakouts. I have found the exact opposite. Several essential oils can be used to reduce signs of aging, wrinkles, fine lines, and clear up acne.

Lavender, frankincense, tea tree, rose, yarrow pom, myrrh, and sandalwood are some of the best essential oils to use on the face, around the eyes, and neck. Be sure to avoid getting essential oils in your eyes when applying.

ESSENTIAL OIL RECIPES FOR ACNE

If you struggle with acne or you are just looking for a spot treatment, essential oils can be helpful for you. Breakouts are often caused by stress, hormones, foods we eat, or life events.

A lot of times, severe breakouts are a cause of something going on in the inside. It can indicate a leaky gut, food intolerances, or inflammation. It may take a little time to pinpoint exactly the issue, but a good diet and the right amount of sleep may help.

Applying essential oils can help to alleviate skin imperfections and, as a result, leave the skin clear.

Uneven skin tone can be caused by hormone imbalances, acne, scars, or overexposure to the sun. It can also be generic and just happen as we age. Oh, the joys of aging!

Some of the best ways to fix skin tone at home are exfoliation and staying hydrated. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking enough water and moisturizing your skin. Using a gentle sugar scrub and moisturizer can be helpful as well.

Applying essential oils to the skin can help to even out skin tone also!

ESSENTIAL OIL ROLLER BOTTLE FOR WRINKLES

As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and in return, our skin gains wrinkles and fine lines. Similar to uneven skin tone, it can come with age, but things like sun, scarring, and lack of hydration can accelerate this even more.

It is very important to protect your face from the sun when outside and avoid getting sunburned the best you can. I use homemade sunscreen on my face and wear a hat when I know I will be in the sun for long periods of time.

Several essential oils are perfect for helping reduce the signs of aging and help to produce more collagen.

INGREDIENTS

5 drops frankincense

5 drops rose

5 drops lavender

5 drops sandalwood

Fractionated Coconut Oil

INSTRUCTIONS

Add the essential oils to a 10mL roller bottle.

Top off with carrier oil. Secure rollerball top and shake to mix well.

Apply around the eyes, forehead, and other areas of concern twice daily.

BEST OILS FOR DRY SKIN

3 essential oil roller bottle recipes for wrinkles acne and skin tone

Often times our skin can get dry, especially on our face. I use my homemade face moisturizer or body oil to help keep my skin smooth and hydrated.

Myrrh, frankincense, and lavender essential oil can be added to any lotion or in a roller bottle to help keep skin moisturized.

For really dry skin, add 5 drops each of myrrh, frankincense, and lavender to 1/8 cup coconut oil and massage into the skin.

When you use rose from a roller bottle do you have to adjust the drops?

Great ideas for recipes! I have a question about the wrinkle recipe. I cannot afford the rose oil right now. Is there a decent substitute I could use until I am able to get the rose oil?
    Thank you.

Any floral oil will do for now! Rose is amazing for skin but I know it is very expensive!

Hmmm I am not sure why it did that. It is working on my end. Maybe it is a setting issue on your printer? Or computer?

Thanks for the great recipes, Laura. I have mild rosacea and was wondering if there’s an oil that helps with that problem. I have just made a bottle with 5 drops of frankincense, 5 sandalwood, 5 lavender and tea tree(2 drops only + 2 drops of rosemary). The scent is divine. Thanks

I use doTERRA essential oils, it is not bulk, but the oils last for a very long time. Here is a link to look around if you want: https://shopoils.com/laura-ascher/
