If you are anything like me, you love a fresh-smelling house but hate artificial fragrances. Anyone with me?

I can’t compromise air quality for a lovely-smelling home. But what if you could improve the air you breathe while making your home smell good? Bring in the holiday room spray!

This recipe, or should I say recipes, can be just the thing to get you in the Christmas spirit. It is one simple recipe, but I will show you several variations, just like with my homemade febreze, so you can switch up the scent throughout the holiday season.ย

Christmas room sprays are 100% natural, homemade, and scented with essential oils. And the best part? You only need witch hazel and essential oils to make them.

Why You’ll Love Them

  • Christmas scents: I love bringing the beautiful smells of Christmas into my home with essential oils. These Christmas room sprays are the perfect way to do this! With 8 different blends, I have the house smelling amazing every day during Christmastime.
  • Easy DIY: With only 2 ingredients and just a couple of minutes to prepare them, this is such a fun and easy DIY! I love making them with my older kids or getting together with friends for a DIY gift-making party.
  • Fun homemade gifts: These room sprays make the perfect homemade gift for the holidays, stocking stuffers, or hostess gifts! You can select the essential oil blend that most suits your recipient and add a printed label for a lovely gift anyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Essential oils: Choose from the list of essential oil blends below for a Christmassy scent! You can find even more blends in my Christmas diffuser blends list.
  • Witch hazel: Witch hazel is a great binding agent for long-lasting room sprays. You can substitute distilled water, but the scent may fade faster.

How to Make Holiday Room Sprays

  1. Choose the scent you want to make and add the essential oils to a 2-ounce glass spray bottle. If you’d like to make a larger batch, you can double the recipe. I prefer making smaller bottles so I can have one spray bottle of each scent.
  2. Fill the rest of the bottle with witch hazel.
  3. Shake before each use and mist the air throughout your home. Spray on Christmas ornaments, the tree, furniture, or pillows.

Holiday Room Spray Recipes

The “smell of Christmas” may be a little different for each person. To me, it is a blend of spicey, minty, and a little woodsy. The cinnamon and clove smell of hot apple cider, the fresh scent of pine trees, or minty Christmas candies will all bring back all the Christmas memories.

Whatever your definition of Christmas scent is, you’ll surely find one you love on this list!
