#1 PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE
Being prepared before the morning rush is crucial! Set out everything the child needs the night before: clothes, book bags, shoes, etc.
#2 BEST ESSENTIAL OIL ROLLER BOTTLES FOR KIDS BACK TO SCHOOL
Before we start for school for the day, I like to set the mood with essential oils. Essential oils can help your child to focus, give them courage, and promote proper brain function. If your child’s school allows it, you can make them a few roller bottles to take to school to help them throughout the day. If not, you can apply them before they leave.
We also diffuse oils during homework time.

#3 ADEQUATE SLEEP
This is a biggie but possibly the hardest one to follow. With all the extracurricular activities, it can be hard to have kids home and in bed at the right time. Children need a lot of sleep, and when they don’t get the right amount, it can really affect them.
Anytime we are out past bedtime, we so pay for it the next day. I don’t know about your kids, but no matter what time I put them to bed, they always wake up at the same time. So late bedtime means less sleep, that simple.
HOW MUCH SLEEP DOES MY CHILD NEED?
According to WebMD, school-age children need anywhere from 10-12 hours of sleep per night. Preschool-age kids may need up to 14 hours of sleep per night! That is a lot of sleep, but think about what they do when they are awake? 😉
HOW CAN I GET MY CHILD TO SLEEP BETTER?
There are several things you can do as a parent to help your child have a better night’s sleep. Stick to a bedtime routine, use essential oils to help calm them before bed, and be strict. You may have to be strict on yourself, more than your child. Think about the importance of sleep and cut out activities that go too late into the night.
#4 SIMPLE MAKE-AHEAD BREAKFAST IDEAS
Similar to the first tip, prepare the night before! Anytime we have a morning activity planned, I start thinking about meals the night before. Having a simple breakfast idea or something already made is key to making back to school easier.
We go to the 8 am church service on Sunday mornings, and we always have breakfast ready the day before. Usually, this consists of homemade granola, oatmeal bake, or a make-ahead breakfast casserole. Having it ready when we wake up makes the morning routine go so much quicker and smoother.
Making lunches the night before can also help with the morning rush. You can find so many awesome lunch containers these days that are stainless steel or BPA-free plastic. Having a lunch container can cut down on waste and save you money in the long run.
