How to Make an Under-Eye Roller Bottle

Step 3. Secure the lid to the top and shake to mix.
Step 4. Shake well before each use. Apply under the eyes twice daily for best results.
Safety Notes
It is important to remember that you shouldn’t put essential oils in the eyes. It is OK to apply them under the eye and around the eye if you are diluting them properly.
Essential oils are very concentrated and should always be diluted before being applied to the skin.
The skin around the eye is very sensitive. Test this roller bottle on a different area of the body to be sure you don’t have any sensitivities to it before applying it under the eyes.
Essential Oils for Dark Circles
The best essential oils for dark circles under the eyes are frankincense, cypress, lavender, Roman chamomile, lemon, and rose.
Frankincense
Frankincense is amazing for the skin. It may help reduce blemishes, fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. It can also be beneficial for protection against UV damage.

Cypress
Cypress oil has long been regarded as a highly beneficial oil for the skin.
Cypress can help with blood circulation when applied topically to the area of concern, making it a great oil for dark circles under the eyes.
Lavender
Lavender reduces the appearance of skin imperfections, and it can soothe occasional skin irritations. It is also great for blemishes, bumps, wrinkles, and scars.
Lavender is commonly used for stress and it promotes a good night’s sleep. Try using lavender topically or aromatically if you think stress can be a cause of your dark circles. Essential oils can be very helpful in managing stress and anxious feelings naturally.

Roman Chamomile
Roman chamomile is a very gentle essential oil that has many benefits for the skin. This one makes the list of essential oils for dark circles because of its anti-inflammatory properties.
Chamomile is also calming and soothing, making it great for promoting relaxation and sleep.
Lemon
Lemon is a useful essential oil for skin tone and overall skin condition. Its bright and fragrant smell lifts the mood and can be very energizing.

It takes a little over 60 roses to get one drop of rose essential oil — now that is some concentrated goodness right there! Rose oil is amazing for skin and anti-aging.
Rose essential oil also offers aromatherapy benefits, including easing stress and anxiety (two main causes of dark circles!).
Causes for Dark Circles Under the Eyes
Similar to bags under the eyes, dark circles are often caused by stress, excess worry, and lack of sleep. In addition, dark circles can be a culprit of age, eye strain, such as working at a computer for hours on end, lack of proper hydration, and even genetics can play a role in dark circles.

Frequently Asked Questions
While each oil in this roller bottle has unique benefits, you can definitely still see results without one! You can simply omit the oil you don’t have or replace it with more drops of another oil.
Coconut oil is a wonderful ingredient for the skin and may help with dark circles and bags under the eyes. Coconut oil can encourage the production of collagen and the regeneration of cells in your skin, which makes it effective for fading wrinkles, even out skin tone, and tightening the skin. This ingredient is so versatile, and it can be found in my DIY face moisturizer and homemade body butter.

Is lemon oil photosensitive? Should you apply this at night? Thank you
Yes, it is! I have a post all about photosensitive oils that may be helpful for you!
Laura thank you for these roller bottle recipes. Cant wait too try them. 😀
Hi, I have 2 questions as I really need to try this roll-on
1. As lemon is photo sensitive, is it safe to use up to 2 drops?
2. As I don’t have rose, with what can I substitute? Geranium is it ok?
Thanks a lot
Lemon is photosensitive and should not be worn in direct sunlight. Geranium is the best substitute for rose.
I have never had an issue with puffy eyes or dark circles under my eyes, but when I was pregnant with my daughter 38 years ago, I suddenly had several dark spots appear on my right cheek and jaw line. Nothing has ever been able to permanently get rid of them and I always have to try and remember to add sunscreen to them in the summer. (I’ve tried everything from peroxide to lemon juice over the years.) Now that I’m a senior, the spots are darker (they’ve never fully gone away) and I have the classical “age spots” on my hands and forearms. I would love a roller-ball remedy that I could apply daily that would get rid of them. Any suggestions?
I would try the role bottle recipe in this post.
is it necessary to use all the oils listed?
For best results, yes! However, you can get started with the ones you have on hand and see how it works for you.
I wish I would have taken before and after photos. This roller has been an answer to my prayers! I look so much more rested and healthy. My dark circles and bags are gone with just one week of regular application! Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!
That is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Would rosehip seed oil be good to use as a carrier oil?
Yes!
