I am so excited to finally share these DIY curly hair mask recipes with you!
You likely already have a curly hair routine, but occasionally, we just need to give our hair a little extra boost. And I think a curly hair mask is just what we may need for that little bit of love and nourishment.
I typically use one of my DIY hair masks a couple of times a month. If nothing else, it’s a wonderful chance to just slow down and spend half an hour doing something you enjoy. After all, you deserve it, and your curls will thank you.
So, pick from any one of these hair masks; there are plenty of options to choose from, ten to be exact. Whether you are looking to boost the definition and volume or add shine to your curls, there is a mask here for what your curls need most.

- Rinse clean with cool water.

- 1 tablespoon (0.5 oz) olive oil
- Combine egg, yogurt, and olive oil until mixed thoroughly.

Pro Tips
Always perform a patch test
Before using any of the DIY mask recipes for the first time, apply a small amount of the mask to your inner arm to test for any reactions or sensitivities.
Protect your clothing
Although these recipes are designed to minimize staining, it’s always a wise precaution to wear a shirt you wouldn’t mind getting a stain on.
Having a shower cap handy will catch any drips and keep things clean. Plus, it can actually help your hair absorb the mask better, making it more effective!
The cool water rinse
These masks are deeply nourishing and you want to rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water to avoid weighing your curls down. You might be tempted to use warm water, but cool or cold water is best, especially for the protein-rich egg mask recipe.
You can follow up with your regular conditioner and shampoo as needed.
