DIY Jewelry Cleaner
Make your own ring and jewelry cleaner with ingredients you probably already have on hand.
Ingredients
Diamonds and rubies
- ½ cup warm water
- 1 tbsp of white vinegar
- 2 drops of lemon essential oil
Pearls or porous stones
- ½ cup warm water
- ¼ teaspoon of castile soap or similar
Tarnished silver
- ⅛ cup of hot water
- ⅛ cup of vinegar
- 1 tsp of baking soda
Costume jewelry & gold
- Warm water
- Castile soap
Instructions
Diamonds & Rubies
- Add all the ingredients to a small bowl and mix well.
- Soak the jewelry for 5 minutes.
- Scrub clean with a soft bristle brush.
- Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Pearls & Porous Stones
- Add all the ingredients to a small bowl and mix well.
- Wet a lint-free cloth in the mixture and gently wipe the stones clean
- Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
Tarnished Silver
- Add ingredients to a small bowl.
- Soak the jewelry in the solution for about 5 minutes.
- Buff dry with a microfiber towel.
- Shine with silver polish.
Costume Jewelry & Gold
- Soak the jewelry in warm water with a touch of soap.
- Scrub clean with a cloth or soft bristle brush.
- Rinse any leftover soap residue and pat dry.
