Instructions
Gelatin Protein Hair Mask
Bring water to a boil in the small saucepan, remove from heat.
Stir in gelatin. (it will start to thicken right away, so move quickly with the following steps)
Transfer to a small bowl and add honey and rosemary. Stir in with a small wooden spoon.
Over the sink or in the shower, pour the mixture over the hair and massage it into the strands and scalp.
Let sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Wash hair like normal.
Egg & Yogurt Protein Mask
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
Whisk until well combined.
Massage the mixture into your scalp and hair. Then, run your fingers through your strands to ensure the serum is covering all of the hair.
Let the protein treatment sit for at least 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Wash and condition like normal.
Avocado & Milk Hair Mask
Mash the avocado in a small bowl until smooth.
Add milk, then stir in coconut oil and honey.
Finally, add the tea tree oil and mix in well.
Apply the mixture to scalp and hair strands. Allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes.
Rinse with warm water and wash hair with shampoo and conditioner.
Coconut Milk & Aloe Vera Hair Mask
In a small bowl, whisk the coconut milk and aloe vera gel together until fully combined.
Apply to damp hair, starting at the roots and working it through to the ends. Make sure your hair is evenly coated.
Let it sit for 15–20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Follow up with shampoo and conditioner if needed.
Banana & Egg Protein Mask
Mash the banana in a small bowl until smooth, or better yet, toss it in a blender to get it super creamy.
Crack in the egg and blend or whisk until fully combined. You want a nice, lump-free texture so it’s easy to apply and rinse out.
Apply to damp hair, starting at the roots and working your way down to the tips.
Let the mask sit for 15–20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Follow with shampoo and your favorite conditioner bar.
Notes
I use this hair treatment once a month, but if you have really dry hair or damaged hair, you could use it up to 3-4 times a month.
These hair masks are meant to be used immediately and do not store well. Don't make in advance or save leftovers.
If you have very short hair, you can cut these recipes in half to avoid waste.
