Melt shea butter and coconut oil in a saucepan over low heat, occasionally stirring to prevent burning.
Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
Add in remaining ingredients and stir well.
Transfer to an airtight container for storage.
Allow the hair cream to fully cool and solidify before using.
Notes
Hair cream will last up to 6 months when stored in an airtight container and out of direct sunlight.
Shea butter can be substituted for cocoa butter or mango butter.
Essential oils and vitamin E oil are optional in this recipe.
Most preservatives are used at .2-1% of the total recipe. I have used Geogard 221 at 0.2%, but be sure to adjust the dilution rate based on the broad-spectrum preservative you are using.
