Yield 1 jar

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup shea butter
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop of Roman chamomile essential oil
  • 1 drop of frankincense essential oil

Instructions

  • Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in the double boiler. If you don't have a double boiler, place a heat-resistant glass bowl over a pot of water and then bring it to a boil. The bowl should be big enough that it rests on the edges of the pot while partially submerged in the water.
  • Stir the ingredients every couple mintues until melted before removing it from the heat to cool slightly.
  • Stir in the essential oils and place the bowl into the refrigerator. We need to let it set up slightly before whipping.
  • Keep an eye on the lotion. When you are able to press your thumb into the mixture and it holds the imprint, its ready for the next step.
  • Using a hand mixer, whip the lotion until it is light, fluffy and firm peaks start to form.
  • Transfer to a glass jar with an airtight lid for storage.

Notes
