Homemade Wasp Spray
This homemade wasp spray is made with just a few household ingredients, making it budget-friendly, kinder to the environment, and most importantly, effective!
Servings: 9 ounces
Equipment
- 16-oz spray bottle with a fine stream sprayer
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of water
- 1 ounce of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap
- 15 drops of peppermint essential oil or 10 drops of lemongrass & 5 drops of clove essential oil
Instructions
- Add water and lemon juice to the spray bottle.
- Slowly add in the dish soap and essential oil.
- Secure the nozzle and shake well to combine. Ready to use straight away. (Be sure to read the notes section below before using this product).
Notes
This spray is intended only as a wasp repellent for safety purposes.
Lightly spray it around areas where wasps tend to gather, such as soffits, eaves, porch ceilings, and other sheltered spots. Using it in these areas can help discourage wasps from building nests nearby.
Do not use directly on or around active wasps.
Be cautious when using this homemade wasp spray. Wasps can become aggressive when disturbed, and getting too close to their nest can result in stings. Always take necessary safety precautions and avoid approaching nests directly. If you're unsure about handling wasps, it’s best to consult a professional pest control service.
Stay a safe distance away when using this product, and ensure the nozzle is directed away from your face before spraying.
This wasp spray works quite well, but you will still need to be aware that they will get angry whenever you mess with wasps or other stinging creatures.
You will want to avoid using this around children or if you are prone to allergic reactions from stings.
I use this spray around my pets but am sure to allow them to get away if need be. Pets have a much stronger sense of smell than humans and may not particularly like the aroma of this spray.
